NO02 Continued - We realise our full economic potential with more and better employment opportunities for our people

Short-Term Improving

Although the proportion of Income Support claimants fell in 2009, it is above the target rate. This is likely to be due to the effect of the recession and people coming off Income Support at a slower than expected rate.

Figures as at November 2008.

Our target is to reduce by 33% over 5 years.
