The Remit:

The North East Transport Consultative Forum (NETCF) aims to enable North East of Scotland Transport Partnership (Nestrans) to regularly engage with a wide range of stakeholders interested in transport in the North East.

The Forum will:

  • Impart information about work being progressed by Nestrans.
  • Inform the development and integrated delivery of the Regional Transport Strategy.
  • Enable the opportunity for debate and challenge on strategic transport issues.

The Forum:

The North East Transport Consultative Forum was established in 2003 and consists of over 100 stakeholders who contribute to policies and issues relating to North East transport issues.

The Forum has been involved in helping to prepare responses to national consultations as well as formulating policy for the North East. NETCF has met on two occasions in 2007/08. Forum’s meetings are available from the Nestrans website – www.nestrans.org.uk - and are reported to the Nestrans Board.

NETCF meetings in 2007/08 focused on Aberdeen City Council's Draft Local Transport Strategy and Health and Social Inclusion – the latter of which provided for consideration of Health & Transport Action Plan, Health Impact Assessment of Nestrans' Regional Transport Strategy, Nestrans' Equalities Scheme and Priorities for Community Planning in Aberdeen.
