Progress

The Forum:

  1. Will hold a public meeting in June 2008 to discuss the new draft Structure Plan for Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire.
  2. Will hold a public meeting in April 2008 to discuss tackling climate change through sustainable building practices. Also submitted a response to the Scottish Climate Change Bill Consultation.
  3. Will hold a meeting to discuss waste issues is scheduled for later in the year to coincide with Aberdeen City refuse collections becoming fortnightly.

 

Key Partnerships and Strategies 

Key partnerships that contribute to our challenge area are the Land Use Forum, Aberdeenshire Environment Forum and Aberdeen Forward. 

Main Successes

  • Completed the State of the Environment Report 2007.
  • Ongoing revitalising of the Forum membership.
  • Appointed a new Chairperson.
  • Appointed a new Secretary.
  • Signed a new Constitution in April 2008.
  • Hosted a seminar on sustainable building and climate change.
  • Submitted a response to the Scottish Climate Change Bill Consultation.
  • Held a joint meeting with the Land Use Forum, which discussed the new draft
  • Structure Plan for Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire.
