Aberdeen's Image - Progress Report 2006/07

The role of Aberdeen's Image Forum is currently being evaluated as part of the wider reorganisation of Aberdeen City Council.

Consideration is also being given to the Forum's role in relation to new partnership working arrangements with Aberdeenshire Council and others through groups such as the North East Scotland Joint Public Sector Group.

As a result meetings were suspended during 2006-2007.  Individually partners have continued to progress projects originated by the group. Examples of this are highlighted below.

Promotion of the City and Shire and continuing work to raise awareness of the City

Support Regional Identity - The Regional Identity is now used extensively in Aberdeen City and Shire. Including:

Use on brochures/strategy documents/promotional leaflets and  brochures etc

Backdrop for stage unit used at various events.

Union Street Banners.

Event welcome sign at Aberdeen Airport.

A range of promotional material featuring the brand is now available.

Brand elements featured at major events throughout Scotland and overseas.

Developed a Web Portal.  The Web Portal - www.aberdeencityandshire.com - was launched in March 2007. It has been created to highlight what the region has to offer to visitors, investors, relocaters and students.

Raise Awareness of City and North East - The Source, a ‘What's On’ guide to events is now produced quarterly.
