The roll-out of new and improved facilities as funded through the New Opportunities Fund (NOF) bid for Physical Education (PE) and School Sport programme and by Aberdeen City Council in the 2005-6 budget statement.
Improvements to the Outdoor Education Centre in Cromdale were completed in May 2006. Work is expected to commence on the pitches at Hazlehead, Oldmachar and Torry in Summer 2006, and at St Machar in Winter 2006.
The development of procedures and opportunities to attract and accommodate ‘hard to reach’ population groups (e.g. diabetics, cardiac rehab, obesity) to utilise sporting facilities through exercise referral to type programmes.
This is being considered in the ongoing City Council re-structuring and in light of recent national publications including "The Equity Standard".
Contribute to the establishment of cohesive links between the formal Physical Education curriculum, ‘Active Schools’ programme, the New Opportunities Fund Activities Programme, sports development programmes and sports clubs within the City.
This is ongoing through the City’s physical activity steering group and the ongoing City Council restructuring.
