Community Regeneration Network (CRN)
On the 23rd November 2006 the first meeting of the Community Regeneration Network was held at the Towns House. The CRN enhances the work of the individual neighbourhood networks by bringing together community representatives from all of the regeneration areas. At the first meeting community reps had the opportunity to introduce themselves to the group and give a short briefing on the work that has been done in their neighbourhoods through the Community Regeneration Funding. The network will be fundamental to community involvement in the future and to opening discussions on issues prevalent in all of the regeneration neighbourhoods.
The Community Regeneration Network was set up in November 2006 - the network consists of community representatives from the following regeneration areas:
| Cummings Park | Seaton |
| Northfield | Torry |
| Middlefield | Woodside |
| Tillydrone | - |
The group meets monthly and has a membership of 30. Sub groups are also formed to take forward relevant issues which will be presented at main meetings. The present Training Sub Group is organising a residential event in May which will have workshops covering CRF funding, how community reps can be more involved in monitoring and evaluating CRF projects/activities in their areas and more in-depth discussion regarding masterplanning of the regeneration area.
The Networks strength is the sharing of ideas, good practice and being able to call in relevant service providers/agencies to answer questions to issues that are prevalent in all the regeneration neighbourhoods.
If you would like any further information on the Network group please contact, Anne Knight, CRF Development Officer on (01224) 522861 or e-mail aknight@aberdeencity.gov.uk
