Fairer Scotland Fund - Board
The Aberdeen City Alliance (TACA), on the 13th March 2008, agreed to establish the Fairer Scotland Fund Board.
The purpose of the Board is to:
- manage the transition from the Community Regeneration Fund, Working for Families Fund, Community Voices Fund, More Choices More Chances Fund and Changing Children's Services Fund (Social Inclusion Element) to a single administration management and decision making process by October 2008
- review all existing programmes to determine level of success or otherwise in line with the outcomes required for the Fairer Scotland Fund.
- decide on future disbursement of the Fairer Scotland Fund grant, to ensure that it is invested to achieve the key outcomes agreed between the Scottish Government and TACA in the Single Outcome Agreement
- ensure that the grant is used in line with the principles set out by the Scottish Government i.e.
- A clear focus on investment to address the causes of poverty and disadvantage, not only its symptoms;
- A strong emphasis placed on making early interventions for vulnerable individuals, families and disadvantaged communities;
- Promotion of joint working between local partners;
- Focused action on improving Employability as a key means of tackling poverty;
- Empowering communities and individuals to influence and inform the decisions made by the Partnership
- ensure Fairer Scotland Fund grant usage complies with the terms and conditions set by the Scottish Government.
- act on behalf of TACA and provide reports as required by TACA.
The Fairer Scotland Fund Board has the following membership:
- TACA Chairperson
- 3 Aberdeen City Council (TACA) members appointed by Aberdeen City Council.
- 3 TACA Participating Partner representatives appointed by respective partner organisation (initial membership 1 Grampian Police, 1 Grampian Health Board, 1 ACVO)
- 10 Community Representatives ( 7 from priority regeneration neighbourhoods appointed by the Regeneration Network –Regeneration Matters plus 3 representatives from the Civic Forum appointed by the Civic Forum)
