The panel was originally selected to be a representative cross section of Aberdeen's population. This means that panel members were chosen to provide a balance of age groups, gender, tenant/home owners, employed/unemployed and from Communities of Interest (such as people with disabilities or from ethnic minorities). Click on the map to see the number of panellists in each postcode area of the city.
The panel was updated in June 2004 by selecting random postcodes across the city, inviting the person in the house to join the panel.
We have recently undergone a major recruitment exercise, but are always on the lookout for more panellists. If you are interested in becoming a member of the panel, please contact us and we will send you an information pack, or pick up a form at The Point on Broad Street or any local library.
If you would like to be on the panel, please contact Philippa Corley on (01224) 522935 or e-mail CityVoice@aberdeencity.gov.uk and she will issue you an information pack.
One of the forms in the pack is for collecting information on our panellists. This is needed so that responses from different groups can be compared. For example, we can see how people of different ages, gender and occupation respond to questions. It is also useful to analyse response by location, as people in different parts of Aberdeen may have different views on the services provided in their neighbourhoods. The information you supply us with is kept completely confidential and we do not pass on any details. The reports are all produced in statistical format and do not contain your personal details.
