Each group was asked to discuss their priority in more depth and complete and action sheet to feed back to the other delegates.

Group 4 - Homes (Affordable Housing) - Facilitated by Dave Kilgour, Aberdeen City Council

Increase supply of affordable and social housing in the City

 

All sectors of the Community Planning Partnership – individually and collectively via the Homes Challenge Forum.

Increasing housing supply in the City will enable the delivery of the City’s economic growth.

 

Improved process for planning future housing need and increasing land supply.

 

Aberdeen City Council ensuring structure plan and local plan are based on accurate assessment of housing need and identification of opportunities for development.

Clarity on future housing provision will support future city growth.

All Community Planning partners consider increasing proportion of affordable housing on development land they hold where there are proposed housing developments.

Group 6 - Environment (Climate Change) - Facilitated by Martin Murchie, Aberdeen City Council

Redress the balance, in cost and convenience between private and public transport

All partners have a responsibility to help their employees use green modes of transport throgh Travel Plans.

Aberdeen City Council has responsibility to ensure that a modal shift to greener transport is supported through a coherent strategic framework and policies.

Increase capacity to recycle through both increased collection (e.g. at tenemented properties) and through recycling a greater variety of products

Aberdeen City Council through existing work and commitments (ref. VD&FL Policy Statement).

Also commitment through education both formal education (i.e. schools) and awareness raising of general public.  All partners have a responsibility for the 2nd part.

 

 

Increase development of Sustainable Buildings

All with responsibilities for property.
