Consultation - the future of SMART Recovery UK
On behalf of the trustees of SMART Recovery UK, I am writing to invite you to attend one of two Scotland based forthcoming consultation workshop regarding the future of SMART Recovery UK. I would be grateful if you would extend this invitation to your own and partner agencies; as well as to service users and their families. Please note that there are limited places available for each event; therefore, participants are encouraged to book early!
Over the last five years a great many volunteers, groups and organisations have helped SMART Recovery UK grow and develop. On reflection, the Trustees of SMART Recovery UK believe that the movement has not yet fulfilled its potential and has sometimes pulled in several directions at once. We need a clearer, more focussed approach to harness the huge enthusiasm and interest in this approach to Recovery. Over the next few weeks, we are running a Consultation on the future direction of SMART Recovery in the UK. Existing members and facilitators are the heart and soul of the movement and we areespeciallykeen to hear their views, but the Board is also considering partnerships with Treatment Providers so the consultation is cast wide.

After reading and considering that document, please submit your views via our on-line consultationquestionnaire. You can also discuss on the forum or submit responses by email, see notes toward the end of the document.
